Ørsted’s wind farm Hornsea 2 is a Guinness World Record Maker
Hornsea 2 has been officially recognised by the Guinness Book of World Records as the world’s largest wind farm. Constructed and operated by Ørsted, the wind farm, which is situated over 50 miles off the Yorkshire coast, boasts a capacity of 1,320 MW. With 165 turbines each standing over 200m tall, Hornsea 2 can generate sufficient power to power over 1.4 million homes. Just one single turbine rotation generates enough electricity to power a home for 24 hours.
Bridge Wind Management is the management services provider to the investor shareholders, AXA IM Alts and Crédit Agricole Assurances, who jointly acquired a 50% stake in the wind farm for £3 billion in September 2022.
Bridge Wind Management works closely with the investment teams at Crédit Agricole to ensure a seamless working relationship with the project management team at Ørsted and to deliver all of the investor shareholders’ financial, commercial, and technical requirements.
Duncan Clark, Ørsted’s Head of UK and Ireland, expressed immense pride in achieving the Guinness World Record, saying “Being named by the Guinness Book of World Records is recognition that we’re immensely proud of. This fantastic achievement has come from years of hard work planning, building, and now maintaining Hornsea 2.”
Bridge Wind Management is also delighted to be playing its part in this record-breaking project.
